Weather fine, no wind
Team made up of last year regulars, however Paul Banford withdrew due to work commitments, as did Geordie Moore on the morning of the match again due to unforeseen work issues, Michael Patmore (remaining sub) drafted in for his debut (in my tenure).
Match went according to plan, with the exception of Davy who was one of last year’s strongest, again we seem to have a strong squad, delighted for in particular Sammy and Micky, Sammy who’s results last year didn’t match his heart and commitment and Micky who was obviously very keen but very nervous.
Outside the box – Geordie resolved his work issues and turned up on time to do caddie. Kevin, Andy, the Doc, Frank and Charlie appeared at one stage or another to show support.
Result allows me to draft another 7 in for action, incl the Doc, Frank and Gordie (stalwarts from last year – just for insurance).

Weather Fantastic
Due to super 1st leg result, a new 7 were picked.
In the words of Vic Reeves “78.42 % of all stats are made up on the spot” so the results above tell only a part of the story. All in all a very good team performance away from home, giving me major headaches on the selection front.
To those who didn’t play, thank you for your patience, with a bit of luck, we’ll get there together in the end.
A big thank you to those who Caddied, and supported, special mention to the one who give the Team Captain a lift and £20 !!!
Newtownstewart or Lurgan in the next round.

Bright but Very windy
A very keenly contested leg, with the weather playing a major role, both teams battled in the gusty wind, Newtownstewart showed their class with some convincing wins on foreign soil, but Rockmount hold a slender 4 – 3 advantage from after the first leg. Thanks to all who toiled, those who caddied and those who showed up to support. Its time to gird the loins for the return.

Sunny but blowy
After the home result this was going to be a tall order against a very good Newtownstewart side, those who won kept their place and three were drafted in. In the end we fell just short, but lessons to be learned showed that if everyone had won one more hole we’d be thru. As individuals it’s so important that NO holes are given away, if you get into trouble play the percentage shot and continue on, also chipping and putting practise would globally improve our scores significantly. This is thru observations over two years. Thanks to all who toiled, next year make it easy for the team Captain and show him you are indispensible.
