Overall Comments – Performance, Conditions etc.

May I first thank all the players who supported the team and made a great effort on the qualifying day.
The conditions were extremely difficult and the first pair of John “the hammer” Curley and Andrew Agnew got off to a tough start and fought hard all the way round to post a score that was as good as any of the afternoon pairings.
Next out was the the past primeministers messers Brown and Blair who got off to a great start for the wheels to come off at the eighth hole, they also came in with an admirable score.
Third out was A Neagle & G Pinder who had a bit of a howler but fought back and never gave up they also came in with the same score .
Out next Charlie Toland & John Bell who played very well only for the the dreaded “to me to yous” to strike on the 15th green ,they came round and finished with the last counting score ,
My last pair of Danny Montgomery and Barry ‘lucky” O’Neill did not have such a great day but in true Rockmount fashion put every effort in right up to the end.
Overall the team did not qualify but they made a great effort in the tough conditions, I would also like to thank the Club captain for his help and support both on the day and before .
