Saturday 7th August produced an excellent Captains Day. Alan McClune certainly gave his Captains Day his all. He was on the go since 5.30am starting off the first fourball and remained on the first tee until the last fourball teed off with the exception of an hour or so for the traditional Captain's Breakfast.
The weather held up and as usual the course was presented in marvellous condition. There were of course some tricky pin positions, but judging by the winning scores, were not impossible to negotiate safely.
It would be remiss if some thank-you's were not recorded. As the Captain alluded to in his speech, the Greens staff did a fantastic job in preparing the course, the Catering & Bar staff looked after everybody (as they always do) in the clubhouse and on the 9th tee with the BBQ & refreshments. The juniors did a great job with taking the photographs.
Congratulations to Past Captain John Monteverde on claiming first prize from another Past Captain, Herbie Donnelly who took second place.
Full details of the winners can be viewed in the 'Competition Results' section on the website.
Also thanks to Dougie Fairweather for taking the photographs as displayed below. If you would like a copy of any of the photos, please contact dougie at the following email address: douglas.fairweather@btinternet.com
