Irish Junior Cup 2017

UPDATE (6th August)

Hard luck to the Junior Cup team in their match with Malone at Belvoir tonight. The team lost 3/2 in what turned out to be a thrilling match. Darren McConnell & Adam Douds won their matches while unfortunately James Hume and Lewis Patmore lost theirs. So, it came down to Davy Turner's match which went up the last hole all square but unfortunately Davy lost. 
Jimmy Robinson and his team have done the Club proud in the Junior Cup this year and they should all feel very proud of their achievements.


UPDATE (30th July)


Rockmount successfully overcame Clandeboye at Shandon Park tonight (30th July) in a very wet quarter final encounter. The start was delayed by heavy showers and at one point the tie might have been called off. The weather broke, the course recovered and the match was on. Adam Douds led the charge and won 4&2, next out was the father of the team James Hume who turned in a 4&3 victory. Darren McConnell played number 3 and won 5&4. David Turner was 4 up through 13 when called in. Lewis Patmore was 1 up through 13 when he was also called in. Terrific result by Team Captain, Jimmy Robinson and his team. Semi final will be against Malone, venue tbc



UPDATE (15th July)

The Junior Cup team have defeated Omagh 4-1 at Lurgan today to reach the Ulster quarter finals. The standard of golf was excellent despite the blustery conditions. Well done to Jimmy Robinson and his team of Chris, Darren, Adam, Lewis & David. They now play the winners of Massereene or Clandeboye.



UPDATE (25th June)

Jimmy Robinson's Junior Cup team have defeated Kilkeel at Ardglass today (25th June). A great result ensued with wins by James Hume, Darren McConnell and Michael Stewart. Adam Douds and Chris Robinson were called in with their matches all square and 1 up respectively. A big well done to players, caddies and supporters who gave up time to go down to ardglass. Rockmount now await the winners of Slieve Russell or Omagh.


Jimmy Robinson’s Rockmount Junior Cup Team lead the qualifiers at Kilkeel Golf Club on Sunday 4th June in the Junior Cup with a combined score of 320. Darren McConnell had the best score for Rockmount with a 75 followed by Adam Douds (80), James Hume (82), Chris Robinson (83) and David Turner (87).  The other qualifiers from this section were Warrenpoint, Royal County Down and Kilkeel.
