This year the matches have gone back to home & away our first match against Bangor was arranged for Friday 13th April (had to be a lucky day for 1 team). We got off to a great start winning 4 matches. The return match was 2 days later and again got off to a great start with all matches up at the 9th. Diane won on the 14th and Maire who was out last won on the 11th.

On the morning of Monday 18th July Rockmount Ladies met Balmoral ladies at Royal Belfast. Weather conditions were not good. The rain started and didn’t stop until our match was over. This however did not stop the Rockmount Ladies from excelling as usual!!! Leonie, Jan and Moyra all had excellent wins and we were able to call in Helen and Sue who were holding their own on the course.
A superb result again for the Intermediate team. Well done Girls!! So onwards to SEMI-FINALS. Malone Ladies, here we come!
I really want to thank the girls for getting to this stage of the competition. They have played superb golf and deserve to be in this semi-final.

On Sunday 19th June, Rockmount Ladies Intermediate team med Kilkeel ladies at Mahee Island Golf Club. Weather conditions were good and the course was in good condition.
Yet again my team had a brilliant result. All five matches going our way. Kilkeel ladies were very gracious in defeat and wished us all the best for the next round.
Well done girls!
Onwards now to the the next round which is the quarterfinals. This match is against Balmoral and the venue us Royal Belfast on Monday 18th July.

On Monday 23rd May, Rockmount Ladies Intermediate team arrived at Scrabo Golf Club to play their match against Banbridge. Weather conditions were atrocious but both teams set out to brave the elements. The winds were gusty to gale force at Scrabo and as you can appreciate, this was not nice. On two occasions I appealed to the Pro at the club that the course was dangerous, but to no avail. When our first lady out, Leonie had reached the 16th tee box, it was decided to bring all ladies of the course and cancel the match. At this stage Rockmount ladies were dormy in three matches and three and four up in the other two. We were not happy! The girls showed such determination and Stamina.
The match was rerun on Tuesday 31st May with a slightly different team. Leonie was unable to play and was replaced by Lady Captain. Justice was done on this occasion and Rockmount won three matches. Jan won 8 & 7, Moyra won 5 & 4 and Maire won 4 & 3. Helen had a very tight match and lost on the 15th hole. Sue was up in her match and called in on the 15th hole.
This was a brilliant result as my team had battled brilliantly on Monday 23rd and we were devastated when told it would be a restart on the 1st tee.
Well done Ladies!
Onwards to the 3rd round against Kilkeel at Mahee Island on Tuesday 21st June.
