Tom Sloan - Captain

This years Captain joined the club in 2005 and has made Rockmount somewhat of a family affair.  Tom's wife Moya, daughters Karen and Emma and son in law Neil are all members.  Tom and Moya also successfully stewarded the monthly mixed competitions for a number of years.  Tom has represented the club as a member of several teams, but states that winning the Junior Cowdy in 2017 was a special moment, especially as the team included a good mix of new members and some old hands. 

Martin Lawther - Vice Captain

Vice Captain for 2019, Martin joined the club in 1997, and has had 1 or 2 good rounds since. Martin represented the club both as team captain and player. Now with his advancing years he has been welcomed to the committee and into his present post as vice captain. Not withstanding the above he can be regularly found at the club with his wife Francis who is a superior golfer. 

Frank McWilliams - Past Captain 

A member of Rockmount since the day it opened in 1995, Frank is an enthusiastic golfer.  Frank during his year as captain in 2018 won the Max Hadden Trophy played annually at Royal Belfast Golf Club.  Frank has also represented the club at the Junior Cowdy level and has contributed to both the competitive and social elements of the club.  Not letting the lack of ‘professional golfer’ status deter him in the least, Frank has battered the ball around many of the world’s best courses in Europe and America but always returns to his beloved Rockmount where his wife Lorraine is also an active member.

Robert Burns - Hon. Treasurer

Robert joined Rockmount in 2009 and has represented the club in the Junior Cowdy competition. Known to his fourball as 'Lucky Bob', he has scored a hole in one at the 9th at Rockmount and plays off a handicap of 19.  A chartered accountant and school bursar, he joined the Committee as Treasurer in 2017. 


Colin McClenaghan - Joint Assistant Competition Secretary

A 48 year old Civil servant Colin has been a member of Rockmount Golf Club for 8 years.  Colin was seconded to the match and handicap committee for 5 years before joining the main committee in 2017. Colin currently plays off a handicap of 2 and captained the Senior Cup Team between 2012-2015.


Frank Wallace - Competition Secretary

Frank joined Rockmount as a founder member when the Club opened in May 1995. Since then he has represented the club in various inter-club competitions, namely the Ulster Cup, Jimmy Bruen Shield and Pierce Purcell Shield, as well as some of the Cowdy teams. In the later years he has also been involved with some of the veteran teams.  Frank has also been team captain for a variety of teams. In 2005 he was invited to become vice Captain and subsequently Captain in 2006, which Frank saw as a great honour and pleasure. Currently he is the incumbent of the match and handicap secretary position in Rockmount, a position now held for some 8 years.  Although having retired some years ago Frank is still enjoying playing golf at least twice per week, weather (and wife) permitting. Simon Gray - Joint Assistant Competition Secretary

Simon is an original member of Rockmount having joined 2 years before the course opened!  He works in financial services and currently plays off a handicap of 8. A past member of the Ulster Cup team he has been on Committee for 3 years as Assistant Competition Secretary.

Jonny Lath - Public Relations Officer 

Jonny is a relatively new member of Rockmount, in comparison to the rest of the committee members, having joined the club in August 2016.  Jonny has taken up the role of public relations officer and will be responsible for the gents and juniors sections of the website and social media.  Jonny will also liaise with the local press to promote the clubs activities and achievements.  During 2017, his first full year as a member, Jonny represented the club in the Irish Fourball competition and was part of the winning Junior Cowdy team.  Jonny is a great supporter of the club and will be seen with his wife, and fellow member, Sarah at his side whether its a mixed competition, a live music night or a steak night in the restaurant.  You can contact Jonny by email with any match reports or club news stories; 

Frank McCourt - Gents Social Convenor  

A member since the club opened, Frank got his application in 1993. Frank has been team captain for the Ulster Four Ball for 4 years, played on Ulster Four Ball Team & Junior Cowdy. Frank's "Current" handicap is 19, and he enjoys the game with his four ball. Frank Looks forward to his yearly trips to play golf in Belek Turkey, also acting as walking Marshall in the Turkish Open, and got the polo shirts to prove it. 2019 will be Frank's first year on the committee and he is looking forward to working as part of the Gents committee and with the other club committees.






Sue McDonagh - Past Lady Captain

I joined Rockmount Golf Club in 2016 having previously captained Portadown Golf Club. I was quickly embraced by the members of the club and started playing on the teams such as the Jack Craig, Irish mixed, Intermediate, Cowdy Cup, Meile and Junior Foursomes.  I look forward to my role as Lady Captain this year and know I have the support of Rockmount Enterprises, the committees, and all the staff. My family, the Todds and the Patterson families have been friends for 3 generations, long may it continue.

Rosie McCrea - Public Relations Officer

Rosie joined Rockmount in 2002 and has representef the club in Junior Foresomes, Cowdy, Revive Active , Intermediate and Irish Mixed. She works as a teacher, plays off 15 and is involved with Rockmount Rollers cycling. Rosie's role is to update the website and facebook and supply articles to the local papers about the successes of the ladies as well as looking after any junior girls.

Bernie Traill - Hon. Secretary

I joined the club twelve years ago as a thirty six handicapper and for many years played in the Challenge Cup. I am currently playing for the Minor Team and can say that playing in AIG ladies competitions has kept my interest going. I joined the committee this year and as a newbie, I find it challenging and I am on a steep learning curve.
