Welcome from the Captains
Welcome from the Men's Captain
As Captain of Rockmount Golf Club it gives me great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the Gent’s Section to our newly updated website.
If you are a first time visitor this website offers just a taste of what Rockmount Golf Club has to offer. Please accept my warm invitation to pay us a visit, as that is the best way to experience and appreciate all the facilities the club has to offer,
I consider it a huge honour and privilege to be Captain of the club for 2012 and look forward to meeting up with you at one of the many club and social events.
I would like to wish our Lady Captain Lorraine Toolan, and all the members of the ladies section the very best of luck for the incoming year.
Rockmount Golf Club has a long and proud history of the two sections of the club working together and long may it continue.
In closing may I take this opportunity to wish all the members of the club an enjoyable year’s golf and every success in their respective club matches, GUI and Cowdy inter club competitions.
Yours in golf,
Peter O'Hara
Welcome from the Lady Captain
On behalf of the ladies section of Rockmount Golf Club I welcome you to our new, updated website and hope you enjoy browsing the various pages.
I am very much looking forward to being Lady Captain for the year 2012 and would welcome each and every one of you to join in the experience of playing our beautiful, parkland course set in the drumlins of County Down. Rockmount was opened in May 1995 by Darren Clarke and over the years it has matured into a challenging course for golfers of all abilities. With water features, maturing trees, and strategically placed bunkers it will take you a few minutes to decide which club to take to get that par!
After enjoying a round of golf I would encourage you to dine in our award winning restaurant where you will be made very welcome by our friendly, helpful staff.
When browsing through the website you will also see we have a large selection of golfing attire for both men and women in our golf shop. It is definitely well worth a visit.
All in all a day out to Rockmount Golf Club will be an enjoyable experience and we look forward to welcoming you here.
I would like to wish the Gent’s Captain and the Junior Captain good luck in the forthcoming year. I look forward to working alongside them at our various social events.
Finally, may I take this opportunity to wish all the teams an enjoyable and successful year.
Let the golfing season begin!
Lorraine Toolan
Welcome from the Junior Captain
Being appointed as the 2012 Rockmount Junior Captain is a great honour. I would like to wish all the Junior members the best of luck for the up and coming golfing season. I hope that with the help of my Vice-Captain Gareth Burns-Delany I can offer support and advice to anyone who has a question or concern.
As Junior Captain I am looking ahead to helping out and working with the new Gent's Captain and Lady's Captain and also the Junior Committee.
My aim for this season is to encourage the juniors to progress their skills on the course and to widen their knowledge of the rules of golf. In addition I hope to build on the success of previous years in the inter-club competitions.
Finally, I hope that this year will be a massive success for all club members, teams and team captains in all golfing fields and that Rockmount continues to progress as a Golf Club.
Yours in Golf,
Russell McDonald
